Training Montages

Wouldn’t it be great if you could turn hard work into an 80s montage?

You would be able to acomplish all the work in a matter of minutes and fast forward to the results.
When your working hard sometimes you don’t see the results until much later.
Just remember the hard work is worth it.
Check out these great 80s Montages:

A Night On The Ocean – Part I

The night’s cool ocean breeze is a perfect compliment to the full moon and the stars. We gaze up at the moon, it feels like there is no one else on earth but us. For the moment we are alone. The ocean, the moon, the stars, the sky, and us. The waves crash to shore slamming against the rocks. The power of the ocean is clear to us. The power of the ocean is not only frightening but awe inspiring.
During this peaceful moment of meditation with the natural world, we realize we are not alone. There is something else out in the water. Their dark silhouettes and shadows dance upon the waves like mystical figures engaged in some ancient dance. We can just barley make out the figures.
My mind tries to decipher what or who these figures are. The feeling of solitude is gone.
“What’s up dude, ” Says the surfer with a smile. All we can do is smile back.
Surfing is the sport of Hawaiian Kings. It was on this night we decided we too would try the sport of royalty.
It wasn’t until much later I learned this area of ocean near the border of Capitola and Santa Cruz is known as “The Hook” It’s one of the most famous surf spots in Northern California. “The Hook” is a place for experienced surfers. It’s the surf spot where O’Neil, the inventor of the wetsuit, lost an eye while experimenting with leashes for surf boards.
I also didn’t know I would be returning to “The Hook” a month later. To attempt to surf this very spot.

Change the world Part II – Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who wrote in about my volunteering post. I have choosen to volunteer at the Alameda County Food Bank upon John’s recommendation.

I attended the volunteer orientation last Wendsday and will now be working the warehouse to help source food to all the community food banks in Alameda County. It’s very exciting and I have to say I feel great doing it.
Here are some interesting things I learned at the orientation.
1) Calls for families in need of food have gone up by about 200 to 300% since the recession.
2) A lot of food drives and giving takes place in during the holiday season, but the rest of the year donations go down.
If you can, ask your local food bank if you can put a donation barrel in your school or office. It’s really easy to do, and makes a huge difference to families in need. A lot of times they are choosing between paying rent and putting food on the table.
Here is my challenge for you. Find a charity to give back either your time or money to this summer. If you already are doing some charity work, recruit your friends and family to do the same and keep up the good work. Even a small change can make a huge impact for lots of people.
Let me know how it works out!
Thanks again.
