The BART is much different than the Subway in NYC. It's taking some getting used to. It looks like what people would think the future would look like from the perspective of the 1970s. The computerized voice that announces when the train is coming sounds like Stephen Hawking.
Also the BART trains are carpeted.
Okay, who's bright idea was it to carpet a commuter train?
Apart from looking like something out of the original Star Wars and having the interior consistency of some shag carpet nightmare. The BART is actually super convenient. It's too bad some of the other cities in the country (Shout out to Seattle) can't figure out mass transit.
Some of my favorite mass transit systems so far are in London, Paris, NYC, Sydney and Melbourne. Where are yours?
